Ottawa Sikh Society Punjabi School (OSSPS)
The Ottawa Sikh Society (OSS) gurdwara offers a respectful, safe and inclusive space for the Sikh community to worship. Guided by Guru Granth Sahib's teachings, it strives to foster understanding across diverse communities, preserve Sikh history and philosophy, and represent Ottawa's Sikh community on national and international platforms.
In the Sikh tradition, the pursuit of understanding is a lifelong journey; a Sikh is always learning, growing, and seeking wisdom. In this spirit, we award two undergraduate students each year who are entering or continuing their studies within the College of the Humanities and who demonstrate financial need.
This endowment was established by the Ottawa Sikh Society in 2019 to commemorate the 550th birth centenary of Guru Nanak, founder of the Sikh faith. Through this initiative, we affirm our dedication to academic excellence, equity, and service, and honour Guru Nanak's enduring teachings of learning, compassion, and the upliftment of all.
